I failed last year's resolution of not falling in love, and here I am broken hearted again... So maybe this year I'll also resolve to learn from my mistakes!!!

Quiting smoking is not boring. Quit man. Pretty much my whole one side of my family used to or does smoke except for me, and it's nasty and hurts you financially as I'm sure you know. Your quiting will be in my prayers.

My new years resolutions will be to dispose of the decaying parts that litter my basement and to not listen to the people who talk from behind my radiator.

Magic Level is to take Michael Jays advice and save up to purchase better quality items not just lots of bits you will never use

On a personal level, I am going to try to take FRK's advice and be a better person.

FRK, you'll find that buying better quality stuff, although it means buying less, is very self satifying.

On a magic level, for me, it is to support myself purely through magic, which I did many years ago...I have already started, in fact - I am now a career professional. With some work, I think I can maintain.

I'm going to try cutting back on the chocolate and the vodka and coke (or maybe just one, both might be pushing it a little)

So no more coke for you then :? That's my kind of resolution

More magic practice, shows blah blah blah

better person blah blah blah

To move to canada in order to join in with Markdini and his revolutions. (I just love spinning round in circles)

To type revolution, canada and magikistan so much that the CIA web scanning computer actualy prepares a dossier on us for that nice mr bush to read. With any luck bush will declare war on a non existant country and we could all get some nice free decks of cards with our faces on them....

Hi guys

As far as New Years resolutions, I thought of the standard of quitting smoking, but I enjoy it too much, so that ones gone out of the window!

The ones I will be doing are:
Go back to the Gym. Ive lost a lot of weight recently, but want to tone up, so I will be going back to the Gym, plus, they take a £30 subscription every month so I might as well use it!

I want to develop some new close up magic, im getting slightly bored of my routine so need a refreshing change.

I start two big media contracts this month, so my resolution for this is to give my best performance and help to get more contracts!

Hope everyone has a good one!!!!

Mark

God! 38 hours since my last cigarette and cold turkey is getting quite nasty, trying to avoid too many nicotine replacement tablets (only taken three so far), still very determined but I'm ultra stressed and have the shakes.
So the long and the short of it is this, honestly kids if you haven't started smoking, don't! Anything that can make you feel this bad isn't worth doing..

To lose two inches off my waist and get back to being a 32"-waist like I used to be. Actually, to lose weight in general.

I used the mint lozenges (Wilkinson's Stores were the cheapest source!) which you just park between gums and cheek and only use as and when the urges get too bad. No more than 3 or 4 a day so don't worry about using them it'll help a lot while you adjust to not smoking. Best of luck!!

When I gave up, I just did. I stopped one Saturday morning (from a 25-a-day habit) and by the Tuesday night I could have merrily kicked puppies to death for looking at me funny. By Wednesday morning, however, I felt fine. The jitters and the craving had gone and I was free. Free, I tell you! Free!

Yeah, that's what I did last time... Honestly worked like a dream, but my brain fooled me seven or eight months later that one or two cigarettes would help me destress when I went for an audition... Eighteen months later here we are again!

That's a well know event - usually any time from 6 months to a year later Mistress Nicotine gives a final kick and tries to re-establish the dependency - very hard to resist but once over that time scale she tends to go quiet and not bother you any more.

Guys, just remember it only actually takes you about a week to get the nicotine out of your system and get past the physiological side effects... the rest is all in your head!

(So I'm told, I have no proof for this, it could be rubbish. But it sounds good.)

Oh, my other NYR is to scrimp, save, sell and perform so I have enough £££ to buy the cedar topped Pono tenor ukulele I have my eye on... :P

Just think for every 20 cigarettes you don't smoke that's around £5 you can put towards CUPS!!
(thats what I've been telling myself since I stopped at the end of October and it's worked a treat!) :D
