Snap Change

Postby moonbeam » Jan 6th, '08, 23:58

My cousin recently sent me a link of him doing the SnapChange and asked me what I though of it .....

.... well I think it's quite smooth, but I suggested showing some of you seasoned pros, so any comments would be much appreciated  .

Snap Change

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I liked it, right angle, no flash as such... Would've been better with two more contrasting cards. If I do a snap change, or any colour change for that matter, I always ensure its black to red or vice versa. It's only my opinion, but i think it looks better.

If im feeling particularly fruity I'll go to the trouble of culling the same value as the selection in the contrasting colour.

Man, i need to get out more!

I totally agree and my cousin prob would too :? .

I'm assuming that in the vid he just shuffled the deck and used whatever cards came out, although he could have prepared the deck beforehand and then shuffled the deck, controlling the 2 cards  .

Tell him that the change itself was excellent. But he needs to work on his pressure fan, and his DLs/pickups.

I have to work on all my flourishes!
But thats the last of my worry.

It was a nice snap change, the DL looked a bit stiff as stated but everything was cool.

I seen many people perform the snap change but i never saw any magic trick or routines using it, is there a reason? I mean it would end an ambitious card routine or many other pretty nicely!

No need for me to tell him - I've sent him a link to this thread, so all constructive comments will be greatly appreciated  .

(I keep telling him to join TM, as it's a great place to talk and discuss magic, etc - all to no avail  :? ).

My main gripe with it was....."Here is an ordniary pack of cards"

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

That was a good snap change (and very clean) but i dont think you could really use it as a trick maybe you could use it in the acr?

Most ACR comes to a point where you show the top card isnt the selected card. Then you put it back on top and snap your finger, it change into the selected card.

Well instead of putting back the card on deck , you switch it mid air with a snap change. Without speaking of the finger snap if you used it as the magic move in ACR the snap change at the end should act as a convincer about your magic finger snap. It can also bring all the heat on your fingers be carefull :)

Its my opinion but i can easily be wrong, i dont do the snap change i have sticked to Erdnass card change and it fit very well withing my ACR but not for the end tho.
