Spirit slates

Anyone know if Large spirit slates are still available anywhere? I'm just after one, (no need to place two face to face) it will be placed in a small spirit cabinet where the whatsit can be removed. Yes, this is a very Victorian routine I'm working on :D
Cheers, Ed

Could there be any joy in the antique market?

There are a few dealers on Ebay who sell second-hand and antique magic paraphenalia.

Here's an example:

Though I realise these might be too small and there are two of them.

if you want just one, would you consider buying the slate from early learning centre and making the frame yourself?

should be fairly easy... :?:

How large is 'large'? Some of the 'small' slates I've seen are not small at all.

Must the slates look antique, or would it be better to have them looking totally normal?

I think abraxus's idea may be the easiest (and cheapest) solution. My girlfriend found 'slates' at £1 each in a bargain store, and I got a few of them.

if you're going victoriana, maybe buy a nice picture frame in pewter or something, and hack up a cheap bit of slate into it?

Thanks Craig, a couple of those look perfect...I can feel my credit card quivering in my pocket...oh well.
I have considered making one but by the time I've invested in all the materials and spent a day making one I may as well have carried out an honest days work which will give me the money to buy one.
