Anyone got the new iPod Nano?

Postby Replicant » Dec 30th, '07, 22:00

I'm thinking about getting the 8GB model so I can watch movies on the go. If any owners can post their thoughts, I'd be grateful.

Well, I don't have the Nano, but I do have the iPod Classic, after my old 5th Gen. was stolen. It's pretty much the same iPod, only bigger, and more space. I personally love it. The interface is great, and I love Cover Flow. I can't say many problems, except for that sometimes if I'm on one song, and skip it, it still shows the same song. Just pressing the menu button and going back fixes it, but I do plan on bringing it into the store.

I hope I helped.

Is the iPod Nano that new? I thought it came out a while ago.

Anyway, I have a 30 gig video iPod and I love it.

I have one of these, it's excellent. 8gig is just about enough for me. What do you want to know about it?

Is it prone to freezing up on you or is it quite reliable? I just want to know if the thing is stable in everyday use. I'm going to go to John Lewis and have a look at one, but there are some things you can't tell by having a play on the shop floor, like how reliable it is. And what is the picture quality like? Judging by your post, I assume you would highly recommend it.

Well i've only had it since christmas, and i've spent the last few days piling stuff onto it. The video quality is immaculate, crisp, sharp and lovely. Hasn't frozen on me yet, but it's early days. Get one.

I bought one for my eldest son for christmas.
It is a very cool piece of kit.. high quality, small footprint. The video playback is excellent and the music quality is first class.

On the latest version they have a version of the cover browser used on the touch and phone, all in all A1

but....

I have the 16gb ipod touch myself, and if you dont mind the size increase,( and the extra expenditure) i would recommend this above the nano.
The touch interface is slick and easy to use. The fact that you can browse the internet on it is also a plus (this was written whilst on my touch!)

hope my thoughts help!

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. As much as I would love a Touch, it is beyond my budget. But I'll probably end up with a Nano soon, so mustn't complain! :D

Im rather lucky really, one of my family memebers who usually gives me a £10 book voucher, which I might add is just fine, gave me and my bro a 80gb classic 3rd gen ipod EACH for christmas!

There excactly the same layout, compatabilty and such as the smaller version, just...bigger!
