Comparing the 'names' for the Convention to those for the two weekends prior, it would appear that the well known ones are mostly not appearing at the Convention. Shame, there are some super performers there but to expect three weekends in a row is pushing thing a bit, unless living very locally!

Not that I'm a miserable old tightwad who keeps count of such things you understand, but I'm reasonably sure I bought you a half last year..... Oh well, precedent established, I'll unchain the wallet and buy another one - do they still take old one pound notes in Blackpool?

Tommy Cooper used to do that. After a meal in a nice restaurant he'd hand the waiter an envelope and say "Have a drink on me!".

When the waiter later opened the envelope he'd find a tea bag inside.

Id say the remainder of the weekends program is the Gentlemans event.

I think last year the ladies event was some sort of pottery or craft thing, I imagine it will be along the same lines this year.

I would sooooo love to go to this, and have been trying to go for a few years now, but my wife is having our new baby almost exactly on the date that it is on, so i doubt i'll be able to travel halfway up the country to go! (I think she might have something to say about that!) :)

Have fun whoever is going and i can't wait to read all about it!

I heard it was the Chippendales. 6 blokes walk on stage and make nice furniture in a wide range of styles, from Rococo to Gothic and chinoiserie (oriental style), influenced heavily by the Neoclassical work of architect Robert Adam....
