I finally managed to watch this last night and to be honest, I enjoyed it. I've seen Keith's shows on Irish TV and although some of those were better, others were not so good as this ITV offering. Many of the effects he did were identical (the Blindfold Car Drive with screaming lady as passenger, the cups and spikes using the spec's hands) and he's also done the same things on US TV - it's not a hanging offence to perform the same things for different audiences! In some ways it reminded me of the Paul Daniels shows where he always finished with a big effect - usually an escape of some kind.
Bear in mind that Keith was in a fairly serious road accident last year and had to take a lot of time off to recover - I believe this show was originally scheduled for last Summer so you can see the kind of delay involved. OK, at times the pace could have done with a bit of a shove, some of the explanations about the shed were over done to the point of annoyance, and Mark Durden Thingy wasn't the best guy to act as host/presenter but, if nothing else, it was Magic on prime time ITV which doesn't happen very often at all.
I'd hope Keith would be able to do another special sometime this year if his timetable allows it - apparently there's a stage tour being organised as well....
