The floating Flame...can you still buy it?

Postby sagev » Jan 26th, '08, 21:13

I am looking for the floating flame effect by Steve Dusheck and Tony Baronio. It was an effect that was available in the early 90's and basically was a lighter that was lit and the flame would rise a few inches (floating) then fall back down to the lighter.

Does anyone know where to get this effect or one like it mabye to levitate a flame off a candle? I am not loking for a TT with flame but rather a way to float a flame of a candle or something similar.

I would appreciate any help on this search.

Thanks,

If it is the piece I'm thinking of, it was taken off the market due to fire hazards (I guess a couple of idiots got burnt or something... dah!)

Have you tried touching base with Steve & partner directly?

If you can't go through them I'd ask the older magic dealers like Hank Lees, Stevens, Abbotts and the such.

Thanks Craig,

I did try some dealers with no luck. I also did get in contact with Steve and he does not have any but got me in contact with his partner who did manufacture them and has some. So I ended up buying it and cant wait to get it here and check it out.

Here's a floating flame effect too. Do post up a review, and hopefully a video too. Would love to know how it goes as I'm interested in it too now you mention it LOL!

Jay Scott Berry has a floating flame, He balances the flame on the edge of a dollar bill. It is more like a zombie effect done close up with a flame instead of a ball. My advice, if you get this (if it is even still available) practice with a piece of paper rather then an actual bill... Trust me, unless you have a lot of funds available at your disposal
