Been looking thru the encyclopedia of card tricks and 1 trick has caught my eye.
On page 371 of my edition there is a trick called "J M rising card"

And I can make the card rise but there are 2 parts I dont understand; what is beveling the cards, I have looked up the dictionary and it talks about printing or striking metal, but I dont see how that works with cards.
And also the illustration shows a hankercheif wrapped round the deck, but a hankercheif isnt mentioned.

Help please cos this is a nice trick...
