Forks again

Postby Tony Hyams » Jan 28th, '08, 15:40

Just to let you all know, Woolworths have just changed their forks, (the worthit! ones) these are the best ones so far. They are about the same quality as the old wilko ones :D happy days.

They are 88p for 4

Thanks for that Tony, will check them out. My bending has ceased since I discovered (then quickly 'undiscovered') those toffee forks from the local cheap shop.

Buy them all before Woolies closes down!

EDIT: Nice new avatar by the way.
Is it Pit Stop II? Or Pole Position?

It's the classic pole Position, I spent so much money on that thing when I was younger.

Hi there,

Great news. Was this a recent change as I tried there a few weeks ago.

I am so chuffed as my Liquid Metal routine just wasn't as good with the forks that I could find. I will be buying loads. So it is the "worth it" ones?

Does anyone know the supplier of the old sort with the lines down the handle? If so, or if these new ones are the same quality, is anyone interested in getting a job lot delivered for all us mentalists and distributing them between us all.

Tony, Got some of these today....perfect for my routines....thank you for keeping us up to date. The woman in Woolworth thought I was losing it when I bought all 25 packs!

I have reordered a load more and my Dad is buying up the whole stock from 2 stores near him.

You are a star and life is indeed good! Happy days indeed.

We need to identify where to get them from in case they change supplier again!

It just shows that it is worth it to keep checking out Woolies and Wilco etc. I checked ASDA just in case but nothing there. Maybe just a matter of time. In the meantime BUY BUY BUY at Woolies!

WELL DONE :D

I've just bought 20 packs from Woolworths & compared them to my old Asda ones. They are about the same handle length, width & weight with the woolies prongs/tines about 2 mm longer.

Quality is almost exactly the same as Asda with a very slightly rougher finish and no 'stainless steel' written on them.

Tine bend is even easier due to the added length, 1 handed bend no problem & corkscrew is perfect with no snapping and no real strength required.

Woolies seem to do 2 types of Worthit forks. These perfect ones have round-ended handles but the other type have a pointed-ended handle. I haven't bought the pointy ones but can vouch for the round-ended type.

All in all the best I have come across since Asda stopped doing them & will definitely resurrect my full routine again :D

Hi Kevin,

Yep the plain handle "worth it" forks are no good at all.

The ones with the lines running down are great.

My Dad has taken all the stock from 5 branches near him and I have done 3 branches near me. I want to get a massive supply as my routing was affected so much when they changes them. Just need Wilco to go back to theirs now don't we. We need that ready supply.

The plain handled forks are workable as I've used them ever since wilkos changed theirs. They are quite stiff, but you get used to them after a while.

Tony, Yep I am sorry you are right. They are workeable but just not as good. The tines are stiffer and the corkscrew is difficult.

Sorry, is some else from York reading this thread!?!?!?!?!

I went to 2 different Woolworths today and checked them out. They had surplus "worth it" spoons, and surplus "worth it" knives - but no f***ing forks!!! Is some other magician buying them all? Or is someone with a fork fetish walking into every shop in front of me?

All the best,
Croz
