Anyone Heard Of This Guy? Hes Supposed To Be Quite Good.

Postby crozboz » Jan 28th, '08, 18:19

Through a friend of a friend and underground dealings, I have a magician coming to lecture at our school to give a short but engaging lecture to us all about how to do magic tricks or something along those lines.

Im looking forward to sitting at the front, hoping he asks me to pick a card, just so I can switch it from red to blue to annoy him.

But anyway, hes from Leicester, and his name is Alex Moffat.

Oh and apologies if he's on the site.

I was just wondering if anyone knows him, or knows of him? I think a little hot reading wouldn't go amiss when he turns up eh?

All the best,
Croz

Perhaps, as one professional to another, it might be a good idea for you not to go into his lecture with the mind-set of trying to screw up his performance to show how clever you are.

Don't mean to sound all parental like, but surely a little respect from one magician to another might be in order? Who knows, he might actually be worth listening to.

Why not just go along ready to enjoy and possibly learn from someone who is prepared to perform magic for an audience? Even if you know how he does his tricks, it's always worth watching a professional at work.

A quick google search and voila...

Do us a favour though, when he comes remember the saying:

"Do unto others as you would have done to yourself."

If for no other reason than one day, it could be him sitting in your audience...

Nah, I intend to sit back and enjoy the performance.

I was just wondering if anyone knew him. And i was curious to see just how famous he is.

He appears to be a regular performer, so he's no doubt well used to some smart alec who has never performed for a paying audience try to get the better of, or belittle, him.
When you perform in front of a crowd, you learn the skill of how to deal with people, something which can't be learnt from a DVD or book, just by solid experience.

When you have that under your belt, you can make mincemeat of those less experienced than you.

A member of The Leicester Magic Circle, he won our close up competition last year and placed second to Steve Dela in the last IBM close up competition.

I assume you perform in front of people? And you know how annoying some specs can be? Don't be one of them
