Paint the coins with a layer of PVA glue.

They are less inspectable, but they will chatter less.

Do a card trick :)

No in seriousness some coins talk much more than others, so largely it's about choosing the right coins.

Here is some really good advice on making 'soft' coins (coins that don't talk) on another forum I belong o:

The only 'sure fire' way I can think of is to try and drown the sound of the coins with your patter. Perhaps raising the voice on a particular word or words at the same time as dropping the coins?

Practice, practice and then practice more. Eventually you will be able to do any multiple coin moves you want and the coins will not talk at all.

I agree that one needs to practice - that goes without saying, but there's nothing wrong in doctoring your coins so that they don't talk. Most of the big names in coin magic did - it was Roth who coined the term 'soft coins' (scuse the pun). In Modern Coin Magic Bobo often recommends using an old worn coinm because it's less likely to talk. It does depend on what you're doing, of course, but if you're doing a production of coins from a Down's palm it really helps to either use old coins or work them so they're softer - like the PVA glue idea from seige, or nail varnish, or sanding them down a bit.

If the coins are going at once then a coin clip is the best way to stop them talking. As far as stopping them talking when dumping them in a pocket etc, I don't bother, I make even more noise. My 2 most used methods are to reach into my pocket and grab out a handfull of coins (including the ones I wish to dump) I then select a coin for my next trick and dump the rest into my pocket. Or if I'm not doing another coin trick I go into my pockets and rummage around for whatever prop I need for my next trick and jangle my keys and change in the process whilst also dumping the coins.

The only way for me is practice. It gives you the chance for inspection. If they talk then the trick isn't practiced enough. That's my opinion.
