http://flourishes101.webs.com/

I recently found a site that was very bizarre. Not in the rotten.com type of bizarre, but pretty close. Craig Browning's essay on the 'I'm Special' syndrome comes to mind very quickly. The people running the site call themselves 'creator/artist' more than they have correctly spelled words in their entire website. The kids running this site are literally little children. Everything about the site screams of pretense and lack of qualification.

Just to be clear, these kids aren't prodigies like Knepper, Teller, or Browning. Watching any one of their performances shows that they are still very new to magic. Nothing wrong with that, except they're trying to sell instructional magic videos. They are also blatantly ripping off theory11 (shows what "Underground Magic Epicenter" means...) on just about every level.

The site speaks for itself, really, so I won't say much else. At the same time, the most disturbing and hilarious part of the site is the page describing the people involved. The "Desziner" and "worker" are little girls, no more than 10 years old.

Anyone remember Alex Rose?

That is hideous! All the "artists" claim to be...magicians and "xcmers". What a disgrace!

I would love to see the them ACTUALLY perform tricks, then we'd see whats what.
If they designed the website themselves, it is rather impressive for their age though!

Dreadful! Absolutely dreadful!

Trouble is, by reacting as strongly as these posts do, that just about guarantees the site a huge audience.

Fantastic.
Comic genius.
Might tune in for one of his broadcasts.

Cept they probably meant it to be serious and cool.

I know at least 2 coin tricks maybe I could email them. Then again I dont think these artists could do a standard vanish let alone Misers dream.

Also on entering their chat room my computer packed in.....

And mods if your reading this can we have this added to the TM rules

They're kids. Is this honestly surprising?

My father always said, "Nobody will ever accuse a kid of being smart."

Just some thoughts.

If you put Alex Rose in the Search facility you'll get a selection of threads where he's mentioned. The one about the X-Levitation and all that hoo-hah is perhaps the most informative one  .

Just watched Digital Change, thats a nice effect, if presented poorly.
Is it a pros trick hes ripping off or..... is he really magic?

It looks like an attempt at creating a version of psycolor change deck, by Knepper. The Knepper version is superior in every aspect, imo. With the kid's version, you need to turn around and (it seems) use the camera as misdirection.

Blimey! I was obviously off on one of my expeditions when this Alex Rose was around, I was completely oblivious to the whole affair... Having checked the aforementioned posts I'm very happy that you alerted me...

I would hate to have missed out on the gossip
