Lets be real here. If ANY trick is well performed, a skeptical audience will be gobsmacked. It's best to open with a very visual trick that can is quick and very quickly grabs their attention. It would help if you told me your current skill level...maybe via PM. :P

Build their confidence with tricks that can be done with a normal deck such as those in RRTCM. Include some tricks that have them holding, shuffling, cutting, etc. the deck. When you have their confidence, swap the deck with a Svengali, go into the Long and Short of It routine and blow their mind.

if this helps, lets say I use a brainwave deck. I once did this and the audience were gobsmaked for around half a minute. then someone piped up 'lets see those cards'
Although, i am 13 years old and just do tricks to classmates.

If the audience are very sceptical then any kind of gimmicked deck will be problematic because people are bound to ask to see the cards. This doesn't make special decks out of the question, if you do two or three effects with fully examinable cards then people will stop asking to see them.

What will happen is that your audience will finally accept that you are capable of doing these effects and not relying on a cheap trick. This is the real cause of sceptical audiences.
