Rubber ball songs

Postby greedoniz » Feb 8th, '08, 12:25

Hello

I am currently working on a routine which involves me needing a song that needs a lyric that mentions a rubber ball or bounce/bouncing.

This gets more difficult when this lyric cannot be in the first 20 - 30 seconds of the song. It also must be playable on a guitar (well I'll be playing it on a ukulele but you get the point) so dance tunes are out....not due to not being able to play but them being unsufferably awful.

So far I have:

Rubber Ball by Bobby Vee - The word comes far too soon. First line

Red Rubber Ball by Cyrkle/Seekers - this is the forerunner right now but only because it's the only one.

So I throw the preverbial gauntlet out. Any ideas?

There was a song done by the "Not the 9 o'clock News" team called the Bouncing Song - not quite the same but it was quite a funny song.

How about Poing by Rotterdam Termination Source (not sure of the spelling)

It sort of a boucing ball noise song - and a little way in it goes, bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce a little higher, x 4 then p'oing. it was a dance hit in the mid 90's.

Darren @ the Magic Attic

P.S. i know it said no dance tunes but the orginal was a penny flute or something.

Just figuring a way to play that on a ukulele.......probably impossible.

However I do remember owning that on audio tape. The young ones wont remember audio tape and probably wont believe that music came on other things other than Mp3.

Anyway the question still stands

Rubber ball or songs with bounce. Can also add that hip hop or rap isnt a viable option either I'm afraid as I'm too much of a honkey to even attempt spitting out some "wicked Rhymes".

Rubber Ball by Bobby Vee 1960 something, words as follows

Rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you,

rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you

hoo-ah-ooh-ooh.

I'm like a - rubber ball, baby that's all

that I am to you (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy)

Just a rubber ball 'cuz you think you

can be true to two (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy).

You bounce my heart around (You don't even put her down)

And like a rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you

rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you.

If you - stretch my love 'til it's thin enough to tear

I'll just stretch my arms to reach you anywhere

And like a -

Rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

(Instrumental)

You bounce my heart around (You don't even put her down)

And like a rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you

Rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you

Hoo-ah-ooh-ooh.

Bouncy, bouncy ... bouncy, bouncy

bouncy, bouncy... bouncy, bouncy

Eee-ah-eee-eee;

I'm like a - rubber band when on my shoulder

you do tap (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy).

Just a rubber band because my heart-strings,

they just snap (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy)

You go and: squeeze me 'til I'm all aflame

(She calls you by some other guy's name)

But like a rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you

Rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you

rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

rubber ball, etc ... Fade out (repeated 7 times).

...and unfortunately unsuitable for what I need as the word 'ball' or 'bounce' comes far too early in the song.

Please keep 'em coming.

Absolutely correct! From the early days of Bon Scott.

One specific line states, "My balls are always bouncing..." If you need, I can find out exactly how many seconds into the song that line comes in.

Mike.

Edited in: The line comes in a 56 seconds. And, it could be played on a ukelele (which, anyone who is an AC/DC fan would start laughing immediatley upon recognizing the riff).
