Super Sharpie advice please

Postby TheWickedWitchOfTheWeb » Feb 5th, '08, 19:53

Hi all

Eventually got myself a Super Sharpie and I'm loving it. I do have a slight probelm with it which I'm hoping someone else has encountered and already solved. The gubbins that was originally blue that sticks to the gimmick likes to stick to me more! When re-assembling after the effect it tends to stay on me rather than where it should. (I have a similar problem with Blu Tack, I'm like a magnet for the stuff!).

Anyone else had a similar problem with it and have a workable solution?

Thanks in advance.

try changing it for wax or repositional glue.

Thanks for the help here and by PM. Kevin found my problem last night, overuse of the blue gloop! Much, much less than I was using is all that's required and it's now a lot tidier. Haven't field tested it fully yet and if it doesn't work then magicdiscoman's suggestion of repo glue seem like a cracking idea. A dollop of zig on the end should be a nic quick fix.

Thanks again everyone (esp Kevin for the hands on tutorial), very much appreciated.

As you've already mentioned - just a small blob on the end is more than enough.

I don't know whether you do this already or not - but when I used to have my SS, I used to colour the blue bit in with a black marker to camouflage it  . This may lessen the "tackiness" slightly (or then again it might not - maybe worth a try though  ).

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

yeah, the end has been well and truly covered in sharpie liquid! I'm so glad I thought to put on a pair of rubber gloves to do it though. Judging by the state of them at the end, if I hadn't I'd be scubbing my hands into the next decade trying to get them clean!
