I've recently upgraded my PC and I want to transfer all my MSN emoticons from my old PC, onto my new PC.

I've tried doing a search on my old PC to see where they might be stored - but I can't find them anywhere.

Does anyone know how/where I can find where my MSN emoticons might be stored?? I had LOADS on my old PC and now I've got zilch .

I've got a memory stick so I was hoping to copy them from old PC ---> memory stick ---> new PC.

Also, I tried saving an emoticon that I used to have, that someone just sent me and it said: "The image you choose is already being used for another emoticon. Please choose another image".
It's as if the emoticon is already being used - but I can't find it on my new PC .

Anyone any ideas please

How about connecting onto msn with your old computer AND your new computer and then using them on yourself...? Could work...maybe.

I would assume, like it is said above, that you should log on on both your computers and copy them across. If it will let you sign on twice...

You can't log on twice - but it doesn't matter now, I've sorted it.

Just for the record, in case anyone else encounters this problem, I was struggling to find where the emoticons were stored 'cos I wasn't looking in hidden files and folders.

They are located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\email address\ObjectStore\CustomEmoticons

I just copied that file onto my memory stick then dropped it into the appropiate place on my new PC. It didn't work straight away - I needed to log out and back into MSN and hey presto, I've got all my emoticons back .

Ahhh the sweet smell of success .
