Back into magic after a 11 year absence

Postby johnny01 » Feb 2nd, '08, 12:58

I used to be a member of the British Magical Society Junior Section when i was in my early teens, we had weekly meetings in Selly Oak in Birmingham but for whatever reasons (cough girls!) I lost touch with it. Then about a month ago I stubbled across some card magic videos on 'you tube' and since then I've been hooked again.

I'm mainly interested in card magic of non-gimmicked variety and luckily despite the lack of practice over the last decade its all slowly coming back to me. I'm currently on the hunt for some good card magic DVDs (what happened to books btw?). After browsing the review pages here I'm really tempted by Sal Piacente's or maybe Bill Malones On the Loose series.

Hi and welcome to TM  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Hi, Johnny01 --

Welcome to TM and back to magic. The Sal DVDs are great, in my opinion. They give you a fair amount to think about and some really strong additions to a card performance. As for books, they're not dead yet, and there are some excellent review on those as well. Have fun here.
