How does David Blaine flip those cards from hand to hand

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Does anyone know how David Blaine flipped those cards from hand to hand? If so can you post it under techniques in the M.O. area. All will be appreciated. Thanks :)

Try going to card trick central it's in the hard card trick index.

Sorry. It only took me a week but I learn very quickly. Just the other day I learned how he did the stabbing card trick and I didn't even practice it before I showed it.

Sorry, but its actually called The Simple Switch when he flips the cards off the top of the deck and when he flips them back from an empty hand it's called Instant Reply. Both moves are credited to Paul Harris and can be found in the Art of Astonishment series.

I debated whether I should have let sleeping dogs lie on this one seeing as it's such an old thread but then I thought it would help if anybody was doing research on this thing. :D

I've got permission from Paul to teach Instant Replay and Simple Switch on b***** Hard Moves made Easy. Should be ready in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, you can see a clip of the move on

Take care, Ian
