laminate cards...

Postby IAIN » Feb 24th, '08, 20:51

right then, i've done some googling, found some possibilities...but i thought i'd check with you lot in case im overlooking something...

now, i want some a5 or a6 sized, coloured laminate cards, say 8 colours in total, white, black, red, blue, yellow, purple, green and orange....i've looked at the kits, and prices arent too bad - however, its the laminate i want advice on - are all laminates the same? will they all take a wet erase pen for example, and let me wipe on/off?

im not expecting you to go off and google on my behalf, just if you have had any experience with this kinda stuff - please chip in...

i'd want about ten of each colour initially...

Most laminate slips should. The only type that is unlikely to take it that well is Matt Celoglaze, But that's more of a commercial finish that would be used on business cards and the like. Most of the do it yourself kits have a gloss finish, and come in an envelope form with a device to heal the ends.

I was so, so close to buying a budget laminating thingummy a few weeks ago, it was only £12, but without knowing how much the refills were I just couldn't quite take the leap of faith!

However, presuming they last a good while, it's probably a brilliant investment, what with all the laminating of gimmicky little pictures, cards and pads etc. we magi like to do!

You can get the refills for a couple of pounds at tesco. Home brand stuff, but they do the job.
