I was recently working on this flourish and having some major difficulties. I'm learning it from Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Sleights dvds, but he is very brief in his explanation...
I don't understand how you can get the card to spin through the air...it just flops of the top of the deck for me...

First do it with one card on its own. hold the card between your index finger and thumb at one of the long ends. So the card is diagnoal. Push your index finger in towards your thumb. This will cause the card to bow out the card will then flick of on its merry little way. Works best with newer cards due to them having more a "snap".

Unless you are talking about an LDS and I am confussed about my spining cards.

No, no the LDS - your description sounds like what I need to practice. Maybe I'll try practicing with a new deck to see if that helps me figure out the feel. Thanks!
