Has anyone else spotted this one?
Wonderland: The 92 Year Old Danger...
Wed 27 Feb, BBC2 9:50 pm - 10:30 pm 40mins

Ron Cunningham - aka The Great Omani - suffers from an almost certifiable need to perform dangerous stunts with fire and glass. Living in Brighton with his increasingly exasperated son David, he's the world's oldest escapologist. Age is steadily taking a grip on Ron's 92 year old body, but his appetite for danger remains undiminished. He might be wheelchair-bound, but that doesn't stop Ron pouring petrol over his jacket and setting himself alight in front of an audience in his local pub.

Daniel Vernon follows Ron right up until his very last days, gently coaxing out the final reflections from an extraordinary life and watching him conjure one last trick that will enable him - if only briefly - to defy the grave. Contains behaviour which could be imitated.

It's no secret that this show is being shown posthumously and may be rather worrying to some viewers. 92 years old and smashing glasses into your chest/setting yourself on fire in pubs isn't the norm for old 'uns so probably worth a look!

Thanks for the head up on this one Mandrake.

It looks like a fascinating programme in a number of ways and is sure to provoke some varying comments.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I wish it wasn't posthumous, but it looks like fascinating telly nonetheless.

Looking forward to this. I'm fascinated by escapology and have often thought of combining a strong mentalist routine with a straight-jacket escape. I think it could be a very eerie experience for all involved.

Sorry Sophie, I didn't see your earlier thread at http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic23852.php, (use the ruddy Search Function Mandrake!!) I've locked this one so we can consolidate reactions in one thread.
