Last Nights Earthquake

With all the news on TV lately about the extreme weather conditions affecting the East Coast of the US, the mud slides in the Middle East and South America, along with the dire predictions made by such films as The Day After Tomorrow, we shouldn't forget that Britain has its share of devastation too.

I've attached a photo illustrating the damage caused to a friend's home from the earthquake that hit Lincolnshire last night.

It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things for granted.

 I lived in Los Angeles for nearly ten full years and went through my fair share of real shakers... the 5.5 and above sort... the Northridge quake cost me two of my smaller storage units which sadly sat about three blocks from that mall that got flattened... fortunately the Magic Garages were safe, some 20 miles away in Pasadena (area)

I think the neatest EQ experience I had was during that rather special instant during love making when both you and your partner are "Peeking Out" and just as you hit the high-note with things the ground literally begins to shake and roll... trust me, it sent shivers down our spine as it confirmed for both of us, our ability to make the earth move when making love.

The one that disturbed me the most was the big Quake that hit San Francisco a few years later... the great highway flattener as it were... I was supposed to be landing at the Airport that day but got rescheduled the day previous as a last minute postponement by a client. I wasn't prepared for what I saw upon my arrival ten days after the fact... I'd never seen that kind of damage from an EQ.

As a kid growing up in the Ohio Valley I was privy to my fair share of Tornadoes, hail storms and of course blizzards, floods, and the all to frequent lost temper of a manic-depressive father... believe me, that was a force of nature...

Truth of the matter is, Mother Nature is tired of all the pesky fleas on her back that keep eating away and killing her and soon... very soon, she's going to start shaking us all off and maybe even go for some dip just to make certain we don't come back anytime soon.
