Honestly, it is much appreciated. And, thank you both for the very kind comments. We all did our best to make sure that the audiences enjoyed themselves - which, of course, is our job!
David Fung is a very talented young man and a gifted performer. One of his set ups had broken just prior to him taking stage, which threw him off of his game. That was unfortunate. But, as stated above, he is young and dealing with these little glitches comes with time and experience. I honestly believe that he will be one to watch in the future within the magic industry.
In fact, Dave was instrumental in helping me come up with a solid ending for the cup and ball demonstration which finished my act. He's quite a thinker and I'm pleased to have him as a friend.
The main problem with getting performers together from two different countries is that there is precious little time to deal with glitches prior to the actual performance. If we could have gotten into the venue the night before, we could have ensured that several technical problems would have been sorted before we took the stage. As a result, the second show came off much more smoothly than the first. I'm not trying to make excuses, just pointing out why some of our mishaps occurred.
All in all, the audiences were pleased with the end result and that's the bottom line.
It was a pleasure to get to meet you and the missus, Replicant. I'm only sorry that we didn't have more time to talk at length.
It was great to catch up with Darrel and his son. In fact, Replicant, if you could have made the evening pub get together, you could have seen the young man perform - he really kept us all quite entertained!
It's a joy to watch such a young man (12 years old, I believe) who is so enthused with magic and who shows such an aptitude for entertaining with the genre. If he sticks with it, I believe that he'll have a good future no matter what course his life takes. Magic doesn't have to be a carreer, it can be something that you use to enhance whatever carreer you have chosen. He is an intelligent young man with a bright future ahead of him and a terrifically supportive father. Good stuff!
