When I say share the same birthday, I don't necessarily mean born in the same year, I just mean have the same birthday .

I think that 50% is quite surprising. When you think about it, there are 365 (or 366) days in a year, so the chance of any 2 out of 23 people having the same birthday would appear, at first glance, to be quite slim .
