silk to snooker ball

Postby Lady of Mystery » Mar 10th, '08, 14:49

I'm on the hunt for a silk to snooker ball gimmick, but can I find one? No chance, so I don't supose anyone here knows anywhere that sells them?

Thanks :D

Never heard of it but what's the effect you're after, could just just vanish the silk to a TT in a hand also palming a ball? Do you want the silk to become the ball? or would it be enough to produce the ball from the silk?

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

well basically it's quite an old fashioned gimmick that changes a silk into a ball. I'd imagine the older guys on here would have come across it.

It's quite hard to describe what I'm looking for without giving too much away, but it's a gimmick that changes a silk into a ball. I've thought about doing it with the TT but that would mean I'd have to carry a heavy ball around with me, this gimmick means that I don't need to.

Yes.

The only ones that seem to be commonly available are Vernet ones, and they look more like glitter balls than billiard balls.

There's a red one here (incredibly expensive): http://www.luckysclownsupplies.com/MAGI ... magic.html

I think that might be the Viking one. If it is, I don't think it's currently available, but they might have old stock.

Thanks part-timer, that's the sort of thing. Im wondering if it might be easier just to make one, if I can find the right ball.

I've seen one guy do silk to pool 8 ball - the difference being that the colours and numbers on a pool ball helped to hide the fact that it was home made from a cheapo plastic ball and then painted/decorated like an 8 ball.

You may want to think about a hank ball. It is used to vanish a silk without a TT I think you could paint the hank ball to match a billiard ball and work it that way. I'm sure you can find one where you usually buy your magic but here is a link to one so you can see what I'm talking about.
