Is it possible to purchase a Steel Strait Jacket or does it have to be custom made by a metal worker? Thanks.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

The only one I know to have existed sold at auction for about what one would have to have as a down-payment on a new home... does that tell you anything?

I'd say that you're best bet is to have it made but you really need to ask yourself if or not such a thing is practical; the mere fact that it is NOT a common item brings about reason for suspicion in the mind of the observer e.g. some exceptional cunning would have to go into the development of such a device.

If I were you I'd have some long talks with some real escape artists before moving along this path, it sounds to me that you are heading down a very expensive and impractical course of venture.

Cannon's has one on his site. http://www.cannonsgreatescapes.com/ShoppingCart/inspectable_steel_strait_jacket_purchase.html
It's $790 not including shipping.

That's very much like the one Danny Hunt of Amethyst used in the Blackpool show this year. Unfortunately it's such an unusual item it almost screamed 'Gaffed' as soon as we saw it - even if it wasn't gaffed at all  !

It is the same one Danny uses, as for a gaff well ;)
