Can Anyone name this card trick Please.

The magician hands two spectators a deck of cards each they both shuffle the cards. Then they both select a card from their deck.

They then shuffle both put the cards behind their backs and mix up the cards, then turn one card over in the pack.

They then display the cards face up and turn over the card they chose to turn over behind their back, it turns out to be the card they selected and both have the same card and both had turned it over.

What is it called?

It sounded for a moment like Do As I Do from RRTCM, but then I realised you say both decks are in the hands of spectators? Hmmm, I'd also like to know the name of this, it sounds like a great effect.

I believe that Derren Brown has performed this effect. It is on youtube- he does it with Jonothan Ross and his wife. Unfortuately, I'm not sure of the name, and it's not on the devil's picturebook DVD.

Yep sounds to me like the same effect Derren does to Jonathon Ross and his wife although Derren uses sugestion to make his wife pick the card on which they agree on...

Not sure of the name of it but I saw Tony Binarelli explain this in his lecture. I'll try and dig out his notes and see if I can get the name for you.

I have borrowed my friends copy of Tricks of the mind series 2 and watched Derren Brown do it as you say with Jonathan Ross and his wife. Yet no closer to knowing the name of it or anything close unfortunately. I am not sure Derren used suggestion for the card is picked however I could be wrong.

I was reminded or this trick while looking through some old paperwork I have, I saw it done on German TV back in the 70’s I have no clue who performed it at all.

sounds similar to Oz Pearlman's 'Perfection', but he keeps a deck on him all the time. here's the write up for it, and I apologise if I'm way off track here! :

Imagine this: you shuffle a regular deck of cards (no gaffs!) and your spectator takes about half. She shuffles her half, and you shuffle yours. You both start to deal cards face-up. She deals a red 5, you deal a red 5. Could this be a coincidence? She deals a black king, you deal a black king... she deals, you deal, and every single one of her cards matches yours, in perfect order. EACH AND EVERY CARD. ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE DECK

good luck with the search - keep us informed as it sounds like an awesome trick
