really, whole two books? With that sort of depth of knowledge and you're surely going to know more than anyone here. If I was you I'd stick to buying pointlessly expensive decks of cards and one shot penguin tricks. You'll get far more out of those than any book we suggest.

Ah dear, why do I get the feeling we are going to have another thread soon asking how to clean and restore ghost cards.

Aivaras could you not even get your mum to sign up to paypal or even yourself. This is very reliable. Also you could maybe go to lybrary.com or trickshop.com (which accept paypal) for a few ebooks. Not many people like ebooks but you would save on the postage and packaging.

As you seem set on getting an "awesome" set of cards, I'd definitely say get one set of them and keep them for performance.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

OK so you have good card skills, well done. The choice of deck will be a very personal one, many spectators in the UK anyway instinctively feel that decks such as Ghost and the other 'weird' types are always going to be trick cards or trick decks so the effect of your magic may not be as strong as it could be. If you use a normal deck, or even borrow one, the the magic could be much stronger. Bicycle cards are the preferred ones for most magic effects but there are many magicians who prefer other brands which may only cost a small amount in a local shop.

All the advice regarding a book was well intentioned and is the sort of thing we'd advise most new members to think about but if you have useful books already then no need to buy any more just yet. As has been mentioned and suggested before, the magic isn't in the props or even the books, it's in what you do and how you do it - on that basis you can probably amaze people with a cheap deck of cards from almost anywhere - best of luck!.

You can probably wipe cards but if they get wet they'll bend out of shape.

Sorry for my bitchy comments

If you're short of money than just get yourself a ordinary set of bikes. They're half the price of the fancy pants ones, which I've personally never really seen any point to. I've only ever used ordinary bikes (except for my pink bikes) so I don't know if the quality is any different but I wouldn't have thought so.

How about branching out into something different, other than cards. I noticed that there are sponge balls on that site, they're great fun to perform, easy and people really love watching them. Or there's coins, they wont cost you anything.

Just some ideas for you....

What the heck I enjoy wasting my breath.

If you are going to entertain yourself go ahead and purchase the ghost deck or some other fancy cards. I collect cards, why? Because I love all those fancy, strange and old decks. So I figured wow these would be great for magic purposes. Then I went out to perform and people were more interested in the strange cards then in the effect itself. I still collect the cards I have hundreds of decks and I always perform with standard red or blue backed bicycle decks.

So you know all the fancy shuffles, cuts and colour changes. Great, do you know any actual effects? because fancy cards cuts and sleights are not going to last long in front of an actual audience. If you know other stuff go and put it all together into a routine. Then add some coin magic, some ropes, some silks, some kid type stuff and go get paid to do some shows then use half the money you make to buy useless yet fun stuff like ghost decks.

Not that any of it really matters because I've seen your type before and you will end up just entertaining yourself perhaps a few friends and family members and the occaisonal stranger but you will always be looking for that thing that puts you over the top. Sadly you will never find it in magic because you will fail to realize that magic is in you not the props and even more sadly, eventually for the most part magic will fall by the wayside.

Go ahead prove me wrong.

As that seems to bring this thread to a logical conclusion, we'll finish the topic at this point.
