Anyone play this.
I have the original game and now it has started to creep back into my life.

I got quite into it over a year ago - but preferred being a monk to a wizard. I though it was a nice touch that monks didn't have any magical powers - they simply asked God to flatten their opponents.

I lost interest after they changed the skills and maps so that you couldn't run around solo anymore. I also got tired of people's abuse whenever they ran off and blamed me for dying.

Oh Dave's always playing that thing, when he's not cycling, he's killing goblins on that game.

For some reason, when I saw the title of this thred my immediate thought was "Terry Pratchett?"

I guess I was wrong :D (MMORPGs are not my thing. Give me Final Fantasy anyday...)

I gave it a go but it didn't really take. I liked the graphics and spells but it doesn't feel like an MMO to me because you spend your time in an instance 90% of the time with only yourself + teammates/bots.

I prefer other MMO's i.e. City of Heroes, WoW or RuneScape where 90% of the time you're interacting with other players and only small parts of the game are instances for limited players.

In saying that, it was the only gripe I had with Guild Wars because I thought it leaned more towards a one player storyline based game rather than MMORPG. I recommend the PVP though, it is very competitive.

It is free, if by free you mean not subscription based. Guild Wars will only cost you to buy the game from the shop. There is no sub.

Do you need to get the first game to get prophesies? I can't believe I'm actually looking into this. I feel so nerdy.

Oh wait, it's not Mac compatible is it?

Nope it's not.

World of Warcraft is, and it will ruin your life a heck of a lot faster, if that is what your trying to do.

*shudder* what a waste of a year...
