Spammers

Postby seige » Mar 26th, '08, 09:26

Dear all...

I've been deleting LOADS of spam from the forum lately, selling all sorts ranging from games consoles to mobile phone 'charms'.

Anyway, something I'd ask...

PLEASE don't post in those threads. A reply just 'bumps' the spam up and keeps it visible to search engines longer.

The mods will delete and take appropriate actions, but by replying to the posts, you're giving the spammers what they need to make their wares more visible to search engines. That's the only reason they post here.

It's hard for the Mod team to go through and ween these things out sometimes, as we're not always online. So just be patient, they DO get removed and banned accordingly.

Thanks chappies & chappettes.

I love spam, but only the type that comes in a tin. (I have refined tastes, I know).

I think some of us thought that if we bump the thread you Mods will spot it quicker, but i see we have been doing the wrong thing! Sorry

I like to fry spam. All of the water goes out of it and it goes crispy a little bit round the edges. Very good drunk food.

Has anybody ever had it battered?

:?:

I've got a copy of the Monty Python Songbook. I just opened it to the page containing the "complete instructions on how to play the piano" and was struck by the thought that it there are probably magic packet tricks out there where the instructions resemble this:

The Monty Python Songbook wrote:1. Select the right key
2. Put it in the piano and open it (not essential, if you can't play)
3. Once the piano is fully open, put your fingers on top of the notes
4. Move your fingers about, making sure they hit the right notes in the correct order (like a pianist)
5. Watch your friends be amazed

For other instruments: The same thing but without the piano

Funny you should ask that, I had it battered just the other week. And thoroughly delicious it was, too. (My wife can't even stand the smell of it). The limited edition Spam with black pepper was particularly satisfying; I am a Spam connoisseur. And I don't even have to be drunk.

Spam is pretty rare here in Ireland, only seen it in shops a couple of times. I have been meaning to buy a can of it for a very long time now!

Is it American in origin? Obviously it became popular during the war, but it seems to pop up loads in American films and what not. Or I may have just dreamt that.

Also I've got to admit I quite like it deep fried in batter. Spam fritter style. Yes with chips naturally.

according to wikipedia, it comes from Texas.

I used to love Spam fritters when I was little, until I had one when I was ill and it put me right off them.
