I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge, experience or opinion on whether hand held radio mics are moody around magnetic devices?
I'm doing a gig on Friday and wanted to wear a PK ring and a relic but, call me overcautious and paranoid if you will, but, thinking of what might go wrong, I wondered if it desensitizes the mic or alters the sound quality in any way. I'm using the mic to sing into as well as speak so I obviously want it to sound as good as it can.

If you're wearing a PK ring, couldn't you just hold the mic in the other hand? Or maybe you could get one of those mic headsets.

Yes I could but if there's no need to worry then maybe I don't need to worry which hand I hold it in. If that makes sense.

Plus, as a singer, I do like to do a groovy pass-the-mic-into-the-other-hand-for-a-key-change-kinda-move.

I might be telling complete fibs, but as far as I'm aware magnets don't cause any problems with radio type equipment, since they're two different things (one's a force and the other is an EM wave)

However, I'm prepared to be proved wrong by someone with more knowledge and experience in that kind of stuff

guess i'll just have to plug all my gear in and test it for you guys, busy tomorrow morning but will get onto it soon as possible.
