£10 is a nice price!

But 10p is 100 times nicer.

Lucky find. Certainly some bargains to be had if you're lucky enough to find them.

My luckiest 'find' was getting a cig through pound in my change from a newsagents once - result!

I got a very clean copy of David Abbott's Book of Mysteries for only 70 dollars.

Mind you, the price is usually about the same as Ricky Jay's book on card throwing.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

I buy all my cds from the used and new section as I think cd prices are extortionate since it only costs a couple of pence to produce a cd and only about 50p from each one sold goes to the band and the rest goes to the record company

A bit like everything else in this country (petrol, council tax, food, etc. etc. etc.) - don't get me started!

Replicant, try heading over to Scandinavia if you want to see silly prices for things like petrol and alcohol. Makes our prices look like total bargains.

Very true Lady of Mystery buts it is also all relative as their wages are much higher than ours.

I remember when I was there we got talking about the price of things with a few of the locals. They asked how much we earned and it turned out that one of the local students was earning more than my mate. To be fair my mate wasn't earning a great deal at the time but a student doing 20 hours a week in a hotel earned more.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

I have found a complete set of 12 inch linking rings for $3.00 in one of the local thrift shops. It doesn't happen very often but when it does it feels great. Its like treasure hunting. Nice find on those Rice Silk Manuals. They are back in print so you can get volume 3 to complete the set.
Cheers

Got Greg Wilson's "Stockholder" for £9 including P&P from eBay, I'm pretty happy with that.

I love used bookshops.

The Magic of Lewis Carrol - The collected notes about games, puzzles, and magic by the author of Alice in Wonderland: $6.50

First edition copy of The Amazing World of John Scarne - not in the best shape but a no-brainer for $12.50

The same shop has a bunch of Scarne's work in older prints, I think I might have to stop back and pick them up.
