Earth Hour...

Postby Farlsborough » Mar 29th, '08, 21:05

Well, I'm sat here bathing in the glow from my screen because I'm being a sport and turning all the lights off in our house for an hour... not much harm in it really as I'm the only one here. But I took a cup of tea and some biscuits outside, hoping to see the city suddenly dim - no such luck, what a let down. Looks absolutely no different outside.

Carbon footprint my left foot... :?

Insert "right wing rant from Dini about it all being a left wing con for making money, carbon foot print"

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Does wind me up somewhat - we are nagged at left right and centre about carbon emissions, not wasting electricity, going green, turning off the tap while brushing our teeth and a whole long list of other planet saving measures, yet London at night is lit up like a Christmas tree with all the offices leaving all their lights on 24/7. Terminal 5 has been lit up for the last 6 months while no-one has been there.

Yet some, that 60w lightbulb I accidently left burning in the porch all night has made a few more polar bears homeless.

Be fair, they were practising for the thousands of would-be passengers who are sleeping there overnight this week
