Another Hello

Postby proteus » Mar 31st, '08, 15:09

Hello.

I'm a keen newcomer to the magic thing. I've been an (amateur) actor and singer for many years, and magic (which I've always been fascinated by) seemed a logical new string to my entertainers bow.

Last year I bought Born To Perform, and Sankey's 22 Blows to the Head (directionless impulse purchases, really), but I didn't really study very hard. A month or so back - following the standard advice here - I bought RRTCM and I'm slowly working through that.

I live in Kent about half an hour away from both Alakazam and Card Collection, which could get very expensive. By the way, magic shops are hardly common - so why does Ashford have two well-respected establishments abouts 50 yards apart? Maybe it's a ley line.

From Alakazam I've also recently bought both Fiber Optics (which I think is superb) and the first volume of Bill Malone's On The Loose (something to aim at). Add to that a few decks of Bikes, an ID and a TT and that's my complete arsenal for the time being.

Thanks for reading....

Proteus.

You don't know how lucky you are! Make full use of them, although I'm not sure if the Card Collection accept personal callers or not.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

They certainly do. And golly - what a lot of cards they have!

Sound advice. I think I had a box full of effects that were shown to me and I purchased back in the old days that i dont use now. ...Umm may have to dig out and put up for sale on here????. Sounds like you are on to a good start anyway.. You know what they say. Practice, practice practice.

Plus the card shop is open like a shop and its well worth a visit. Never seen so many cards in my life....

Just posting to re-introduce myself, as I joined a couple of years ago then faded away.

Hello.
