Frustrated Feline's!!!

Grrr!! I really want to buy a set of these Black Tiger cards but I just don't have the money! Plus there's a lot of other things I'd like to spend my money on at present.

Just out of interest how many people have got a deck? And how many people feel just like me?

All the best,

Isn't there a third option?
They sound nice, but I'm indifferent about them - but then again I'm not much of a card guy.

Yes, I suppose there is a third option, but I don't really want to know about those people! :D Lol, sorry.

I got 12 decks from Ellusionist - it was a special offer of 'buy 10 get 2' free and have given some to a local fellow magi who is similarly strapped for cash. Abject poverty seems to be a dominant trait in magicians! I've just ordered a couple of the red pip decks from cards4magic and am ploughing through my largely unread collection of card effects to see if there are any which can be adapted/warped into a Black Tiger effect.

At the moment I can report zero success but the cards are inspirational inasmuch as their appearance is definitely on the spooky side of things and they look as though they deserve to be used in such a manner. I can't in any way shape or form imagine playing Rummy with them!

Slightly off topic - we don't even get rider back bike decks over here - just the league backs, unless I buy them at the magic shop. I found that when I even used rider backs people were suspicious of me using a 'trick deck', which has been sorted out to some extent by me using league backs (ok - they were also on special so I bought a whole lot). Do you think the Tiger decks would add to that suspicion - ie. trick deck, or do you think they would make the whole thing more mysterious?

Back to the question. Seeing as there is no third option  I would say I would love to get some but would be killed for getting them..

The Black Tigers definitely look 'special' and 'strange' and I'm sure specs would want to have a closer look at them all. For this reason, you'll probaly need to end effects clean or be able to switch any gaffed cards if you're happy about letting specs examine the Tigers.

One of my first thoughts was to do an ID - let us know effective they are please! My main worry was that the cards would seem so unusual that the reversed card may not be immediately apparent and the effect may be watered down a bit because of that weird appearance.

I fully agree that this deck (not the red incarnation, though) has a very odd 'retention of vision failure' (as I have described it in my Black(deck)Magic pdf).

The cards are VERY hard to 'lock onto'... making an ID routine seem almost pointless really—considering that the essence of the ID routine is the VISUAL aspect.

Can't see the logic, currently...

Mind you, other 'easy to adapt at home' decks are a distict possibility and special sized 'gaffed' cards might have their uses in terms of always being able to locate them - if you know what I mean!
