Ok so the effect is called

I Touched Your Mind

Its going to be a Mentalism trick, using my Apple I-touch.......

I thought it would be nice to scan in an entire deck and have the spec use the touch screen to shuffle through the cards!

However thats as far as Ive got and I cant for the life of me come up with an effect?

this isnt just a trick to show off an I-touch/phone, its more about using new technology and rather than carrying a deck of cards If I was caught short when i was out I cud use my MP3 player to do a card effect!

PM if anyones got any ideas?

It sounds like you'll have to get someone to write a program for you in apple-speak. It's going to be a lot of hard work!

Why go through all the work to narrow it down to a single effect?

You've, for all intents and purposes, proposed an instant deck of cards taking up no more room that what you already carry - something you can use as a prop rather than an effect. I would suggest turning to card and mentalism tricks to find new uses for the prop.

Go back through RRTCM, Wilson, Corinda, etc. and find half a dozen effects that would fit the new prop. Try a range from stuff that would appeal to kids (old enough to be trusted with your iTouch) to adults.

Now whenever you have it you are fully armed for an on the spot interview or audition to prospective clients.

For a kicker finish have some business cards done up and pull one "out" of your iTouch. You could even have a prediction pre-printed on the back for a forced card - or use a [Corinda Ch1] for your reveal.

The fact you could use Zenner cards or Tarot opens up another whole range of opportunities for effects and patter.

If you liked the original name try incorporating it into your routine's patter: You use my iTouch and I'll try to touch your mind.

Good for you then ! I've personally found all the apple stuff to be a bit evil. I have a theory that they are technologically racist. They create their own computers, OS, media players, and everything else and it is completely exclusive. You can't bring in anything outside the Apple bubble in.

Yes i understand that its the same space, if not bigger but it was more about being caught short and using new technology might be a nice way to go........Ive already loaded up like 30 card images so far to the pictures folder lol.......and yes ive thought about taking stuff our of the screen also.....

I just havnt found what Im looking for in it yet....

I recently used my phone to get some pics of ESP (Zenner) cards, so I could carry them with me everywhere.

I then created an effect where The spectator looks at a pic of a hand holding a card with all 5 symbols on. They think of one (e.g. the square). I close up the phone and leave it in their hands. They name the symbol for the first time. They turn it over, and there, in full glory is a pic of a square.

The method is so simple, 100% guaranteed success. I've even tried a few different presentations too.

Using a full deck sounds quite ambitious (pun intended then instantly regretted) though. I'll be interested to hear how your effect turns out. You'll have to post a full description of the effect once it is finished.
