Coin in bottle tip

Postby ultimatecreate » Apr 6th, '08, 16:45

just bought this – easy, excellent routine! Only thing is - in a quiet, one on one atmosphere the folded coin can sometimes be heard to 'speak' (chink) while entering the bottle.

just a quick tip I found that has been quite useful for me…

I wear a chunky silver thumb ring and tap the bottle with it before handing it out for inspection and after I receive it back (both times seemingly inadvertently) so I can be almost careless about entering the coin into the bottle with the spectators being almost used to the sound of metal chinking against the glass bottle.

Thought id share,
Alex

If you are willing to work with non-folding but special coin and a plastic coke bottle, there is a very impressive effect out there.

ive never heard of that - is it in bobo and is it necessarily a better routine? Obviously you dont have the threat of the blasted band snapping at every darn given opportunity.

Only just started playing with this but might this routine might be worth the investment if the band goes on me @ a gig

lets put it this way theres to much prep for it to be impromtu and the bottle and coin can't be examined.
the cap in bottle version is much more logical and leaves you pretty clean with an examinable bottle at the end.

you take the top of a bottle and slam it into the bottle.......

It could be that magicdiscoman and I are at cross-purposes here.

My presentation involves a full plastic coke bottle (ie clearly no ways in). The contents are poured out and a 2p coin is slapped against the bottom. The bottle is turned over and it is clear that the coin is now inside the bottle with no obvious way in. The bottle with the coin inside can be handed out for inspection and indeed takeaway. Yes, some preparation is required but the 2p coin is real and ungaffed. I was forgetful when I mentioned a 'special' coin above
No originality claimed
