I cheated. I looked at Xbox website and searched for EckoZero to freak you out. Then, I realised that that gamertag is based in the US. Whoops.

Ok someone obviously knows nothing!!

PS3 has the Playstation network at present.. which is why Im sat at home now indulging in an online game of Skate!!

Reasons why 2008 is Sonys year:

Final Fantasy XIII , More MMO's, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet.

The majority of Xbox Live's best titles are all re-hashes, PSN games, such as ' calling all cars, Warhawk, Everyday Shooter, Pixeljunk and Flow ' in many respects show far more ingenuity and talent than the multimillion efforts of bigger developers.

Blue-Ray!!

PS3 tp PSP connectivity

Rumble!!

Play TV ( as opposed to Xbox's cr*p Video Store )

Haze, Gran Turismo 5, Grand Theft Auto 4, Metals Gear Solid 4

Oh and to answer your question definitively, PS3's answer to Xbox Live is HOME. Live's main strength is its community, which HOME actually expands upon, and Live's only real expansion pack in 2008 will be its deal with BT vision!! The killer blow to LIVE is that HOME is COMPLETELY FREE, where as Microsoft still Charges customers to use Xbox live!!

Ok someone obviously knows nothing!!

Then why embarras yourself and make a post? :D

Rather than speculate...
Reasons why 2005-7 were Xbox's year
Too many to list right now

Live's only real expansion pack in 2008 will be its deal with BT vision!!
Wow - you seem to know a lot, especially as the major updates are always kept secret until a couple of weeks before (or in some case not prior to) the updates going live.

The killer blow to LIVE is that HOME is COMPLETELY FREE, where as Microsoft still Charges customers to use Xbox live!!

If you add up the difference in price between a PS£ and an Xbox 360, you see why Sony had to make it free. And I don't mind paying for it, as it is a better service.

p.s. The Video Store is brand new, and even if you ignore that, I can't say it's c*** (not the best).

Ok well PS3 is only £299 with 2 games and a blye ray disk and is set to drop ASAP to £250 as Sony rolls out a new £300 model equipped with a cell chip that costs half the price to manufacture, 180GB of hard-disk space and a Dualshock 3!!! Id much rather pay just a little extra for a better product.. and £250 is still damn cheap!! Xbox isnt much cheaper...

You say its a better service.. compared to what? HOME hasnt launched yet.. so you have no basis for comparison.. the specs of HOMe when its launched will outweigh Xbox ( more functions ), and I wont be paying for it anyway..

Children children :P

Shall we get back to the point of whether you like Gears of War or not?
PS3 is good for some things. X Box 360 is good for some things. Nintendo Wii is good for some things. :D

as an aside, my favourite game experience was Desert Storm on the original xbox...two player mode...

nothing like being blitzed out your skull on "things" , drinking lovely drinks, and then chucking in a smoke grenade and providing sniper cover while your best mate legs it through the smoke to plant explosives on a tank...

then he gets killed...and i rush down with a pistol of all things, throwing grenades everyway and reviving him...

genius! we made it out alive! now that's a game they should revamp...

i imagine people who had commodore 64s like PS3, and speccies like 360s...apart from siege...

Is that Conflict: Desert Storm?

If so I must admit it is pretty good fun. I had Conflict: Vietnam as well and me and my mate stayed up all night doing that one - including one hilarious moment when I popped 2 smokes and legged it to get to the far side of a tank to blow it up.
In the mean time, my mate had found another path to a balcony.
Aimed a rocket launcher at the tank and BOOM. One tank down. One team-mate down...

Race against time to revive me and just made it.
We proceeded, went round a corner - and my mate got shot by a sniper.
C'est la vie

that's the one...they should revamp that one...just for me and my mate...

snipers when playing with other real people is probably one of the finest things in gaming life...just for sheer comedy moments...especially if one of your mates is being deadly serious about planning something...

just nod sagely, say "you first..." then pop them in the back of the head...

mass effect, been playing that alot recently...

gears of war though, i know a 50 year old who bought that and morrowind and a 360, and no one saw him for two months...

he had died in a gas fire...

only kidding...he became a massive 360 nerd...loved it...

well its about time the debates over..

Call a truce. It's bad enough I spend so much time talking about magic :D

he had died in a gas fire...

lol

BTW, the only drawback about GOW is that it doesn't really have a plotline. I hear they are going to incorporate one in GOW2 :?: .

Gears of War does have a plotline :D

No one knows who or what the Locust are but they are attackin and destroying everything.
A few surviving soldiers are sent to kill them.
They have to find a way to map out the tunnels to find the heart.
They find a way, and then they have to release the bomb to strike the heart.

Simple. Brutal.
Direct.

The way it should be 8)

They have put in more of a storyline in GOW2, we find out more about the characters.
We find out why Marcus Fenix was imprisoned.

Supposedly they have upgraded the melee, to a more complex system.
That will be interesting to see what they have done with it.

I don't know where I read this but I'm sure he was imprisoned because he was a deserter.
he was one of the last survivng COG members and instead of going with the team, he went back to the mansion to find his dad and make sure he was alright.

They caught up with him at a later point (after his dad had died) and hauled his ass into jail for desertion.

That's why the Colonel calls him a traitor.

The game magazines release all sorts snippets of info, but you get a lot of rumours that never pan out.

I liked how the story was portrayed, just getting bits here and there.
Keeps the mystery there and we all like that.
