the perfect can

Postby ultimatecreate » Apr 12th, '08, 16:11

Just digged out criss angel's dvd - quarter in soda can after leaving in rot for about a year in the 'box of discarded mystery items' we all have and love.

Love the routine but can't seem to work any decent cans. My main problem is finding a can with a large enough base and big enough rim. Ive found Strongbow 500ml cans have an exceptional base, which can be tilted slightly downwards before all is revealed but the rim is a git.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but couldnt seem to find it on the search list.

cheers,

alex

just when you think that you've found a can that suits, those marketing types go and change the design

I've tended to stick with the cola tins and change the coin (favoured is a 20p)

Oh- thats surprising. Does the 20p edge not hinder the initial vabish at all?

I've not done this one for ages, I found that a 20p workded better than a 10p as well. It shouldn't make any difference to the initial vanish as long as you're a little careful.

I've never had a problem with the 20p as LoMster has added and I too found it easier than the 10p. The only thing that the 10p had going for it was it's bigger but if it don't go in - then it's no good!

Funilly enough, I have been thnking for a few weeks about resurrecting this DVD and haven't got around to it yet. Maybe now's the time

20p or 10p are fine with normal cola cans.

Just remember one thing that i forgot. If you do use a strongbow (which i dont recomend) the vanish has to be done very carefully. I did the whole thing of smashing through the bottom (you know whats coming) when it came to the reveal.... Opps early cider shower. With all the laughter and spray I could have pulled out an elephant (if you know the trick you will understand). So thats my advice. I got a better reaction but not the one I was looking for. Luckly, it was at a freinds BBQ and i must confess to drinking a few of the ciders first.

Great trick though..

I actually performed this 20 mins ago to show a new starter.

Forgot to check the can when it came out of the vending machine and, yep, it was a different design can - cue bad finger but it was ok. I'll stick to Sprite as they are always good from the machine.

I also use Stella cans too - shame we cannot have these in work though......
