I've been here a while but haven't yet introduced myself and I've not posted much.

I'm Tom Ravalde (tomrav); 15:AH and I live in Middlesbrough, UK, but I board weekly at Ripon Grammar School (this means I can only really use the forum at weekends and school holidays.)

I've been interested in magic for about 5 years and do mainly card effects and other close up magic.

I started in magic using gaffed decks etc. but I've been moving away from that recently and I've been learning from books, videos and DVDs for a while (although gaffed decks and gimmicks etc. can still be useful in some situations)

I guess that you could describe me as a lonely geeky kid who spends all his time practising magic !!!

I mainly perform for family and friends but I hope to take the next step soon and perform for the general public.
