For those who haven't seen it yet, here's my personal opinion and review.
Starring: Johnny Depp, Helena Bohnam Carter, and Alan Rickman, over all excellent casting. Casting review, 9/10
Plot: Benjamen Barker (Johnny Depp), falsely imprisoned, returns to London as Sweeney Todd. He seeks revenge in a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's (Helena Bohnam Carter) meat pie shop. While Mr. Todd kills his victims, Mrs. Lovett disposes of the victims by baking them into meat pies. It's a little more in depth than that but... So as not to ruin it all, it was a bit predictable. Overall Plot review, 7/10
Singing: These songs are catchy and well written. Johnny Depp's surprisingly good voice along with Helena Bohnam Carter, Make an odd couple where at points there is obvious chemistry, and others you can't really tell, Alan Rickman who plays Judge Turpen singing is odd, but with a tune to it is not terrible. Overall Singing 8/10
Overall movie review: This is, and shall probably remain, the bloodiest musical I've ever seen. The cast is great, the singing is quite good, and it's a very powerful movie, it's mixed with humor and drama. The visual imagery is great, even though most is done on a green screen it's very convincing. Although blood, the singing is good, the acting is good and the plot is not bad. This is my third time seeing it in three days and I still do not tire of the movie or music. It's worth renting and if you like it buy it. So... Yah overall one of the better movies I've seen in a while.
Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.
