Mr FIrst Video

I thought I'd finally put my beginner's fumblings out there for public scrutiny. Just a simple ACR, I'm aware of some faults but I'm sure more experienced eyes can give me some tips.

Sorry I got carried away with the movie maker but it was my first try at it.

P.S. I guess wee Danko is a bit sick of seeing it.

I liked it, dunno what your cat thought of it tho'.
A nice ACR that was varied and not just the whole its gone ....its back thing. Reaaly nice with the colour change and the finish!
Just 2 things:
1. The flikery old fashioned filter didnt add to the effect.
2. The camera angle, I aint a fan of the old crotch cam method cos you were shooting yourself in the foot a bit with an unnatural angle.

Hope that helps!
:)

Once I had THAT song I couldn't resist the old flickery, first time playing with a video editor (got carried away).

I normally throw in a card to wallet before the colour change but can't help thinking that's TOO much. What you think?

Trivial but important point: You forgot to have the card signed or at least demonstrate that all the cards are not aces! Even if the spectators eventually realise that the cards are all different they should be convinced of this up-front....

Magic is slight of mind!

Personally a CTW might destroy it because your doing TOO much within a set time.
Give it a shot and see the reactions.
And I agree with above, dont forget to get a sig!

Hi Gary,
My thoughts:
1) Wee Danko is really cute!
2) It's technically fine, well done, and although I agree the video effect doesn't add anything, I too get tempted by all the different video editing options!
3) I think you need to pause a little more at the appropriate points. You know as we do that the workings have already happened by the time you're ready to reveal the card, however, for spectators you need to pause to create a "moment of magic".
4) Equally, when you reveal the card, you could afford to do it more dramatically and pause a little longer - if you act like it's no big deal, so will your spectators.

Good work though, and keep going - let's see another one soon!
