My introduction

Postby veegates » May 7th, '08, 00:27

Hi,
I sure am happy to have found this site. I live in New England and build and restore automata for a living. As a little kid I truly loved magic but one thing lead to another and it kind of fell to the wayside. Restoring automata has always kept me close to magic. Lately I decided to build a few of the old automata that was used by magicians. I just finshed building my version of Robert Houdins' Antonio Diavolo. I put him on Youtube under the name of Dante The Daring. I have also built A copy of Houdins Orange Tree.
Is there anybody else out there that also builds automata? If so, I would sure love to hear from you.
Kevin

I remember seeing a version of the orange tree on on eof the Paul Daniels shows - it was certainly a work of beauty.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
