To the Moderators

High Guys and Gals ( I’m not sure if your both)( I mean one or the other!)

"Defining whats in a forum"

It was just a question re the listing s for the forums, in the General Magic you have the following

Magicians Talk
Magician's shows, chat about specific magicians etc..

Events
Conventions, club events, shows which do not fit in the "Magician Talk" category...

Both talk about “shows”, I have posted to the events page details of a verity show with a magician in it, was this right? Is there anyway of clarifying what is meant by “Magician’s Shows” and “shows”.

Also is there a way of PMing the moderators as a group as I would have just sent a PM rather than posting.

Thanks

To a certain extent, these categories were decided way before most of us were involved here so they're a sort of inherited thing!

I'd say that Magician's Shows would be simply that - Derren Brown at the local Theatre etc whereas Events would be like the Leeds Unity Day which may contain some magic but also other entertainment. As for PMing en masse, I don't think it can be done but, as we all have e-mail addresses, you could probably send one e-mail to all the required addressees. A post here is probably just as good because we may be away from the machines where e-mails arrive but can usually get at the forum from anywhere on the planet - provided there's a working computer available, of course!

As I interpret it, the Magician Talk is for talk about magicians and about the shows after they have been seen. The events section is to inform people of events before they happen.

Of course there can be some overflow if an event is mentioned, then watched and then discussion occurs but that doesn't matter really.
