Help Finding A Coin Sleight

Postby Merlinx » May 10th, '08, 11:33

Am am looking for a coin concealment called L W or D W clip I think. The sleight is where a coin is secretly clipped/vanished with the first finger and thumb in a piching position. Does anyone know where I might find a description of this in a book or even dvd

Thanks

You are looking for the JW Wilson Grip. It's not in Modern Coin Magic.

One contemporary place it has been described is in one of the early issues of Penumbra; the one with Shoot Ogawa's purse frame routine. It is also mentioned, although not described, in Cultural Xchanges 1, a DVD Bob Kohler put out of Shoot and Apollo's magic.

I'm not sure of the original description.

Take care, Ian

Edit: on rereading your post, it may not be the JW grip. Where did you see it?

Ah that one. I was thinking of the aptly named 'pinch vanish' which is indeed in Bobo. The Magic Makers dvd of Bobo does feature a tutorial of the JW vanish/Wilson palm if anyone would like to learn that. It crops up in quite a few places nowadays, including on both David Stone's Real Magic dvds.

Sorry to digress but I thought this might come in handy.
