On of them "had to be there" moments... but still

A couple of weeks ago, I happened to read the nominees for our local council elections. The headings at the top of the list table were "name- address- description". I read down the descriptions column and saw the usual sort of stuff- "builder, contracter, farmer, dry stone waller, doctor" etc. Then i got to the final nominee- a little old busybody who I'm not a fan of. Her entry to this column nearly made me choke:

blonde, slim, 5'2, always happy to meet new people

I kid you not, this woman was obviously mistaking the local council nominees register for a lonely hearts column! I was half expecting a phone number with 2 hearts and a kiss at the bottom!

On reflection, it was definitely one of those "had to be there" moments, but it was still pretty damn funny...

Do you not think it's more likely that she has more of a sense of humour than you're crediting her with, and she's put it in as a joke? It is pretty funny!
