Always read the instructions properly!!

Postby heronjester » May 26th, '08, 17:33

I have learnt this today after working through Roberto Giobbi's Card College Light. A very fine book, by the way, with some very effective, self workers/no sleight needed. But there has been one that has been eluding me for a while, the one called 'Fingertip Sensitivity'. Finally after working out that I had read one of the instructions completely wrongly, just a couple of words, but it made all the difference, now it works like a dream.

This had caused me to make sure I read the instructions properly. Possibly I thought that as they're self workers they'd be easier than others with sleights.

Any way: lesson learned!

Indeed I know the feeling. I used to perform the Glide effectively, but upon watching someone else perform and re-reading RRTCM, I realised I was performing it awkwardly and no where near as effective as it could've been. However, in closer situations, I also now have an interesting variation of it, so it worked out for good!

I was making the pass all wrong, way to noisy! Upon further reading my problems were easily sorted!
