You may not believe it but it's true.

I can show 10 tricks impromptu.

I know about 40 more. Including chop cup, cup and balls, cards, dollars(american), and coins.

(those are just my specialties.)

I plan to become professional and would like to have any suggestions.

At this point in time I am now learning 2 card tricks a day.

Welcome to the forums. I'm going to give you a bit of advice and hope that you don't take what I'm about to say wrong...

Personally, I know hundreds, if not thousands, of tricks. I've been studying magic and getting paid to perform for about 25 years. In all the tricks that I know, I only perform a select few. These are the ones that I do all the time.

The idea of learning and performing two new tricks daily makes me cringe. I have my personal favorite card trick, and I've been doing that ONE for 30 years, now. Funny thing, I could do a lot more than that, but why would I want to show someone a trick that I can do in a mediocre way, when I can show them something that I don't even need to think about to pull off which is excellent magic and very entertaining?

There is an old saying in magic (and, since you want to be a pro, it is good for you to heed it here and now): An amateur magician does a lot of tricks for the same people. A professional magician does a few tricks for a lot of different people.

Worth considering...

Anyway, enjoy the forums!

Mike.

Hiya mate, welcome to the forums.

This place is full of great knowledge and also full of great magicians and I'm sure somebody can be of help to you.

It's great that you're learning so much so quickly but remember that it's not just about learning the tricks, its also about performing them well.

I'm sure that the knowledge you've gained already will be of use to some, if not all of us and I also hope that some (if not all  ) of us can be of use to you.

All the best, see you around the forums,

Fish

All the best,

Will Wood

I really appreciate all of what you all have to say. Thank you. Michael Jay, I appreciate your logic and will take it to heart. Let me mention that I do practice tricks I like the most. I learn 2 card tricks daily to see what's out there and if I like it then I practice it to however close to perfection I can get.

clever lad this one, one to what for sure, modest too.
well lad you have already surpased me and are nipping at the heals of boywonder the comercial genius and the venerable siege, soon you will surpass even them, then what will you do ?.

your young yet grasshopper give yourself time to grow into your art, rome wasn't built in a day you know being able to perform a few tricks exceptionaly well far outways being able to rattle off seventy card tricks unless you are entering a speed magic session (like speed dateing but for magi, great fun and educational too.)

hope you have a great time on the forum, you have a lot to teach us meer mortals.
