Magic shop in Blackpool?

Postby magikmax » May 22nd, '08, 14:03

I'm going on holiday to Blackpool next month. Having never been there before, are there any magic shops that I could visit while I'm there?

Thanks, Sandy

I was there a handful of weeks ago to discover that Tommy Coopers (no, not that one), had shut down!
There is a little one next to the winter gardens but it has a steven mulhern video in the window, make your own judgements there.
if there's more than 2, i don't know about them.

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Thanks for those, espcially Mandrake. Coinsidentally, I've just finished looking at yell.com and saw JB magic. I e-mailed the store, and they've just replied advising me that they do have a shop.

thanks again!

Magic Shops In Blackpool

Postby Allen Tipton » May 24th, '08, 13:44

:D You might see if House Of Secrets is still there. They are still on Google. Back in the mid 80's they were approx opposite Central Pier. But don't trust my memory on this location.Check Google.
There used to be a back room for real!! magicians.

There are 3 that i know of.

JB Magic - 226 Lytham Rd, Blackpool, FY1 6EX, 01253 407097

Tommy Cooper - Coral Island, Promenade, Blackpool,Lancashire, FY1 5DW, 01253 440338

House of Secrets - 12, Caunce St, Blackpool, Lancashire FY1 3DN, 01253 620902

Although now i believe that Tommy Coopers has moved from the pleasure beach into a little shop which is part of The Winter Gardens, By the market hall entrance.

Depending on what you're looking for, JB Magic is far better than Tommy Coopers (just my opinion - and yes I have been to them both :? ), although whilst you're there, you might as well try them both out and see for yourself  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

thanks a bunch for that folks, I'm there for a week, so I'll have a look at all of them, and let you know what I think. Having only Tam Shepherds in Glasgow near by, it'll be nice to visit another British magic shop.

Is there any good directory for magic shops around? Just the one place in Hull, which has most of what I want, but would be nice to see some others around.

I remember British magic shops well. They tend to be on the mediocre side in the sense that they are not very well stocked. You should see the two in Toronto. Unbelievable amount of stuff. Veritable treasure houses. You eyes would bug out. And of course the prices are MUCH cheaper. It might be worth ordering from overseas to get the better prices.
