Bicycle Ink Red?

Postby oochexoo » Jul 22nd, '04, 09:33

Can someone please help me find out what the exact color of red and blue backs of bicycle cards are. I am looking for what the color is or where i can buy the color so that i can mark my own cards instead of buying expensive ones. thanks.

I guess only the US Playing Card Co could give you precise details. As a suggestion, take the cards to an art supplies shop and ask them to check amongst their inks etc - the range is usually very wide and there should be something close enough for the job.

You might need to bear in mind that there may be slight differences in colour on different batches of cards so two or more inks may be needed.

I have found that a red sharpie works very well with the backs of the red cards. (conversely, the red pen doesn't work so well with the blue)

A) Ask the USPCC - it's their colour!

B) Surely the colour doesn't really matter if you're making for your own use? It'd be much better to have your own design and stand out from the crowd that little bit.

 Unless, of course, you're planning on making fakes.
